Smarty Ears Online has its own policy. It is a different kind of product: you use it in a browser, and it keeps your students' goals, results and notes on our servers, often for a school or district. Its policy explains how we look after that information, who can see it, and when we delete it: Smarty Ears Online privacy policy. The apps and Smarty Ears Online don't share information with each other.
Some apps let you add the people you work with, such as a name or photo for a profile, or a birth date so a screener can compare results by age. Everything you enter, and every score, note, report and recording an app makes, is kept on your iPad or iPhone. It isn't sent to us or to anyone else, and we can't see it.
Apple asks every developer to say what an app collects. On the App Store, every one of our apps that has these labels says "Data Not Collected", and none of them tracks you.
Many apps let you email, print or share a report. When you do, it goes where you send it, through your device's own email or sharing. We don't get a copy.
If you back up your device to iCloud or to a computer, the backup can include the apps' information, like your other apps. That backup belongs to your Apple account; we can't see it.
You can delete a profile inside the app, or delete the app to remove everything it stored on that device (copies in your own backups stay until those backups are replaced).
You buy our apps from Apple. A few apps (Talkie Tot, HearS Screener, AAT Plus, BAPA Plus and Custom Boards Elite) also sell extra content inside the app, through Apple too. Apple handles the payment: we never see your card or payment details, or who bought what.
Our apps don't show advertising and don't track you. Links that leave an app, for example to our website, the App Store or email, are behind a grown-up check in our apps for children.
When you email us from an app, the email can include your device type and model, its iOS version, your device's name (for example, "Ms. Lee's iPad") and the app's version, so we can work out what's wrong. You see the email before you send it, and you can remove these details.
When you contact us, request a demo or apply for a university grant, we get what you type: usually your name, email, role, school or organization, and your message. It's kept on this website and emailed to our team, and we use it to answer you and to follow up on what you asked for.
If you sign up for our emails, or tick the box to get them on one of our forms, we add your name and email to our email list at GetResponse. We send news about our apps, Smarty Ears Online, ideas for therapy and offers. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
If you comment on the blog, we keep your name, email and comment. Your name and comment are shown with the post. Comments are checked for spam by Akismet.
We count which pages are visited with WordPress.com (Jetpack) statistics, which use your internet address to tell visits apart. Our security services also see your internet address, to block attacks. A few pages show YouTube videos; YouTube can set its own cookies when a video loads or plays.
Our links to Smarty Ears Online tell it that you came from this website, so we know which of our pages help people find it. What happens after that is covered by the Smarty Ears Online policy.

This website uses a few cookies: WordPress remembers your name and email if you comment, the visit counter tells visits apart, and YouTube sets its own when a video plays. We don't use advertising cookies. Our apps don't use cookies.
Children use many of our apps with a parent, teacher or therapist. The apps don't collect personal information from children: what's entered stays on the device, the apps have no advertising, and links out of our children's apps are behind a grown-up check.
This website is for adults. If you think a child has sent us personal information through it, write to [email protected] and we'll delete it.

The apps keep your information on your device, inside each app's own protected space, so there is nothing of yours on our servers to lose. This website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and security services that watch for attacks, and only our team can see form messages.
When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we'll say so here before it takes effect.
